At Xpensy Technologies, we respect your right to control your data. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
How to Delete Your Account
You have two options to request account deletion:
Option 1: Through the App (Recommended)
- Log in to your Xpensy account at app.xpensy.in
- Go to Settings → Account
- Click on "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision
Option 2: Email Request
Send an email to support@xpensy.in with:
- Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
- Your registered phone number or email
- Reason for deletion (optional)
What Data Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Personal Information: Name, email, phone number, profile picture
- All Expense Records: Every expense you've tracked, including amounts, categories, descriptions, and dates
- Budget Settings: All budget configurations and limits
- Recurring Expenses: All scheduled recurring transactions
- Preferences: App settings, notification preferences, and custom categories
- WhatsApp Integration: All WhatsApp-related data and message history
- Payment Information: Subscription and payment details (if applicable)
30-Day Grace Period
⏰ Your account will not be deleted immediately. We provide a 30-day grace periodto protect you from accidental deletions.
- Days 1-30: Your account is marked for deletion but remains accessible
- During this period: Simply log in to your account to cancel the deletion
- After 30 days: Your account and all data are permanently deleted
💡 Changed your mind? Just log back in anytime within 30 days to restore your account.
Timeline
Immediate (Day 0)
Account status changes to "Pending Deletion". You'll receive a confirmation message via WhatsApp.
Grace Period (Days 1-30)
Your data remains in our system. You can log in anytime to cancel the deletion.
Reminders
We'll send reminders at 7 days, 3 days, and 1 day before permanent deletion.
Permanent Deletion (After 30 Days)
All your data is permanently deleted from our servers. This action is irreversible.
Important Notes
- Irreversible: After 30 days, deletion is permanent and we cannot recover your data
- Export First: Consider exporting your expense data before deletion if you want to keep records
- Subscription: If you have an active subscription, it will be cancelled upon deletion
- Meta/WhatsApp: Your WhatsApp account is not affected - only your Xpensy account data is deleted
Data We May Retain
For legal and operational reasons, we may retain certain anonymized data:
- Aggregate usage statistics (no personal identifiers)
- Transaction logs required by Indian financial regulations
- Records needed for legal compliance or dispute resolution
This retained data cannot be used to identify you personally and complies with Indian data protection laws.
